CONTINENTAL TECHNIQUE Lesson 7.1.1

Magic Loop

  • Cast on 10 stitches using both ends of the needle. Pull one end of the needle out
  • Turn the needle so that yarn from the ball is at the back (away from you)
  • Bring stitches to the middle of the needle and bend the needle dividing all stitches onto 2 halves
  • Pull the bended area of the needle to the left so that one half of the stitches remains at the front and second half remains at the back
  • Continue pulling part of the needle that is at the front to the left until tip of the needle almost meets very first stitch
  • Bring the yarn over the needle located at the back
  • Place a marker on the needle at the back
  • Pull the back needle until its tip meets the first stitch on the needle at the front
  • Process stitches on the needle at the front as if you would work back and forth
  • Move the needle at the back to the front and repeat the same process of pulling needles
