Picking up stitches with crochet hook and knitting needles

Terminology: when the yarn is held at the back of work as to knit it is picking up knitwise; when the yarn is held at the front as to purl it is picking up purlwise. The hook or the needle can be inserted through the front or back loop of the stitch or both loops.

	Picking up stitches knitwise through both loops
	Picking up stitches knitwise and purlwise through front or back loop
	Picking up stitches along the row edge
