How To Full Wool Instruction

Machine processing

  • Set up washing machine for medium wash cycle with warm water wash temperature, cold-water rinse and maximum spin.
  • Put detergent (1/3 of a capful for a small load; 1/2 of a capful for a medium load and 3/4 of a capful for a large load).
  • Put item to be fulled in a zippered laundering bag and into the machine together with any previously washed heavy fabric garment.
  • Check that there is enough space in the machine for the agitation, which is important for fulling process.
  • Proceed with the complete machine cycle. Usually, one wash cycle is sufficient to achieve fulling.
  • When item is to your liking, shape and place on a towel and lay flat to dry.
    Marupe
  • Manual process

  • Fulling can be achieved manually by hand washing in hot water with detergent for about 2 minutes and then rinsing in cold water. Wringing or twisting item is not recommended. Roll item in towel to extract most of the water and then lay flat to dry.
    Daina
This instruction is used for our products `Daina` (100% wool chunky weight) and `Marupe` (100% wool DK weight)

  • Detergent – any liquid detergent for example Tide or Dawn washing up liquid
