Crochet gauge

It does not matter what stitches crochet pattern is consist of even the most intricate one. There are always fixed number of stitches per rows per single repeat called gauge. Good pattern always provides you how many repetions are involved in the specific size of the crochet fabric. Make a swatch and masure it. The total size should be the same as indicated in the pattern.
