Traditional Russian Cast On (Also known as Two-Tail Cast On)
Prepare yarn, leaving loose end.
Wrap the yarn end coming from the ball over thumb and index fingers of the left hand and hold it with the pinky, ring and middle fingers as well, so that both ends of yarn are secured inside the left palm
Spread up thumb and index fingers so that you have enough of yarn to start working with
Take 2 needles with both tips on the same level in your right hand and insert them under the yarn in the middle between thumb and index fingers of the left hand.
Pull the yarn with the end of the needles toward you and secure yarn with the index finger of the right hand to prevent it from slipping of the needles.
Move tips of the needles toward the left thumb and scoop both needles into a loop that has been forming around left thumb
Pull the yarn wrapped around the left index finger into this loop
Take the thumb out of the loop and pull the yarn towards you with the freed thumb to form your first 2 sts
Repeat previous 3 steps forming your next stitch as many times as it is requires
Take out one of needles
