CONTINENTAL TECHNIQUE Lesson 7.3
Working in rounds: 5 double-pointed needles
Advantages of this technique:
> The same principles used as in 4 double-pointed circular
knitting
> It keeps better visual proportions when making socks or mitts because your work
is divided onto back and front usually with the same number of stitches. Though
5th needle is required for that (extra mini-row) comparing with 4 double-pointed
needles.
Disadvantage of this technique:
> Inexperienced knitter has to use needle protectors to
prevent stitches from sliding from the back of the needle.
> Processing first 2 rows can be difficult for beginners
